Coming from a long line of Texans, North Dallas is my home base. I was born in Japan and lived in multiple states as a military dependent in test pilot and flying communities. Living around people from all over the world gave me an appreciation for a wide range of cultures. My ballet training began at age 11 in D.C. and with every move, I met instructors and friends in the performing arts world who impacted my life beyond the studio. Ballet gave me the constant challenge of moving, training, and performing in various states and I loved teaching ballet to adults and children at Chamberlain Ballet in Plano, TX. I was fortunate to find Romana's Pilates at age 14, as part of the ballet training program by Romana’s son, Paul Mejia. I feel honored to be apart of a growing International community with an impact on health and lifestyle.
Like many athletes, experiencing injury as a dancer lead me to appreciate the rehabilitative, healing nature of Pilates which builds up and strengthens the body and mind. Similarly to ballet, I appreciates how Pilates continuously pushes one for personal self-improvement and encourages you to never stop learning, while honoring own's own pace. I love sharing a life with my twin, and when I am not working out or teaching, I enjoy spending time with our dogs, working with my mom in our family real estate business, and finishing up my degree in Religion and Global Studies.
I was introduced to Romana’s Pilates at age 14 when I moved from Houston Ballet Academy to study under Romana’s son, Paul Mejia, in Dallas. As a military kid, I was born in Japan and made many out-of-state moves. While North Dallas is my home, I treasure the many years spent in other beautiful places including California, D.C., VA, and more!
I believe Romana's Pilates invites instructors and clients into an exclusive community with its international focus on health, where people can learn from one another and obtain unlimited personal growth. I can attest that courage equals risk, and have seen firsthand how taking a first step in trying something new can change one’s entire life for the better. I enjoy teaching and seeing my clients grow, reach goals, and gain independence as they learn Romana Pilates.
As a former dancer, I had the opportunity to train and perform in different states and enjoyed teaching ballet to adults and students at Chamberlain Ballet in Plano, TX. Understanding injury from my personal ballet experiences, I appreciate how Romana Pilates facilitates life-long health and rehabilitation. When I am not working out or teaching, I enjoy spending time with my twin sister, playing with our dogs, working with my mom in our family real estate business, and completing my degree in Religion and Global Studies.
