Coming from a long line of Texans, North Dallas is my home base. Though I was born in Japan, I spent much of my childhood living in multiple states as a military dependent in flying communities. Growing up around people from all over the world gave me a deep appreciation for a variety of cultures.
My ballet journey began at age 11 in Washington, D.C., and with every move, I connected with instructors and friends in the performing arts world, all of whom left a lasting impact on me beyond the studio. Ballet became a constant challenge — physically, mentally, and creatively — and I loved teaching ballet to both adults and children at Chamberlain Ballet in Plano, TX.
At age 14, I was fortunate to discover Romana’s Pilates as part of the ballet training program led by Romana’s son, Paul Mejia. I feel deeply honored to be a part of this growing international community that is shaping health and lifestyle worldwide.
Like many athletes, experiencing injury as a dancer led me to discover the rehabilitative, healing nature of Pilates — an incredible practice that strengthens both the body and mind. Much like ballet, I appreciate how Pilates continuously pushes me toward self-improvement, while honoring the individual’s pace and growth.
When I’m not working out or teaching, I love spending time with my twin sister, our dogs, and working alongside my mom in our family real estate business. I am also finishing up my degree in Religion and Global Studies.
I was introduced to Romana’s Pilates at age 14 when I transitioned from Houston Ballet Academy to study under Romana’s son, Paul Mejia, in Dallas. As a military kid born in Japan, I had the unique experience of living in multiple states, from California to D.C., Virginia, and beyond. While North Dallas is my home, I treasure the many years spent in other beautiful places across the country.
Romana’s Pilates has always felt like a special community — one that unites instructors and clients around the globe in a shared commitment to health and personal growth. I truly believe that courage leads to transformation, and I’ve seen firsthand how stepping outside one’s comfort zone can change a life for the better. It’s a joy to teach and witness my clients grow, see them achieve their goals, and gain independence as they learn the art of Romana's Pilates.
As a former dancer, I had the privilege of training and performing across the country, and I loved teaching ballet to adults and students at Chamberlain Ballet in Plano, TX. Having experienced injury during my ballet career, I’ve come to deeply appreciate how Romana's Pilates promotes what Joseph Pilates hoped for all of humanity: lifelong health, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
When I’m not teaching or working out, I share a life with my twin sister, playing with our dogs, collaborating with my mom in our family real estate business, and earning my degree in Religion and Global Studies.
